Max Sawyer Celebration – June 9th – time TBD

Max Sawyer is moving to Dallas to follow his dream of being a professional athlete.  He has been the lead runner for the Conway Running Club and a tremendous supporter of the Conway running community.  Beyond running, his main focus has been in the triathlon event, recently finishing first in his age group at the Galveston Ironman 70.3 event. There are two CRC meetings coming up and if you are a CRC member (and especially if you are a CRC Grand Prix runner) or if you are anyone in the Conway area who runs (or walks) or wants to start running (or walking), read on. Mark your calendar, the second Monday of February, April, June, August, October and December.  These are the dates for the Conway Running Club meetings. Why we run the Grand Prix

The CRC had both a women's and men's team in the Valentine 5k race today in Russellville.  It was a nice brisk 22 degrees with a little wind at the start.  We didn't have our strongest team but we fielded both teams which means we had at least 3 women and 4 men entered.  We'll find out later how we fared against the other clubs. Grand Prix Race #1 – One Hour Track Run

The first 2012 Grand Prix Race is officially in the books.  Conway men had 14 runners in the race and the women brought 5.  That's not bad for the first race of the year, running in circles around the track in the cold.  John Harrison has posted the Conway Runner results on his blog and you can go to Mac's Timing to see the official results for all runners.
