Max Sawyer Celebration – June 9th – time TBD

max_tim

Max Sawyer is moving to Dallas to follow his dream of being a professional athlete.  He has been the lead runner for the Conway Running Club and a tremendous supporter of the Conway running community.  Beyond running, his main focus has been in the triathlon event, recently finishing first in his age group at the Galveston Ironman 70.3 event. We will miss his involvement in the running community but are excited to see him launch out from Conway and take the next step in his competitive … [Read more...]

Why we run the Grand Prix

currentgplogo

The CRC had both a women's and men's team in the Valentine 5k race today in Russellville.  It was a nice brisk 22 degrees with a little wind at the start.  We didn't have our strongest team but we fielded both teams which means we had at least 3 women and 4 men entered.  We'll find out later how we fared against the other clubs. Tim had a great race but as we walked to the car Tim mentioned he said although he felt he had a good race, it wasn't faster than a couple of other guys he would … [Read more...]

There has been a lot of talk about the Conway Running Club Grand Prix team this year.  We're off to a great start on so many levels.  On the Men's team, we are definitely running behind the talent of Max Sawyer who was the overall winner in both races for the CRC.  For those of you who don't know, Max works at Conway's only running store - The Sporty Runner.  The Conway Running Club is proud to support The Sporty Runner and appreciate all they do for our sport in Conway and in … [Read more...]

Grand Prix Race #1 – One Hour Track Run

gp_oh1

The first 2012 Grand Prix Race is officially in the books.  Conway men had 14 runners in the race and the women brought 5.  That's not bad for the first race of the year, running in circles around the track in the cold.  John Harrison has posted the Conway Runner results on his blog and you can go to Mac's Timing to see the official results for all runners. Behind the speedy running of Max Sawyer and Alex Goff who placed first and second overall, and with the help of Karl Lenser and Alan … [Read more...]
