Afternoon runs

May 11th, 2010

As we find out about groups that run in the afternoon, we’ll post it here.  We encourage you to try out groups until you find one where the people, pace and place meet your needs.  Runners are friendly people, on the most part, and it’s fine to show up, run and see how it goes.

Right now there are not any organized afternoon groups but I know there are a lot of afternoon runners.  If you are interested in starting one, please let me know and I’ll post the information here.  Then people, like you just did, will find it and contact you to run with you.  The only real commitment is to tell people what to expect in terms of frequency, distance and pace and follow through.  For example, it is ok to say “We run every once in a while, contact us to find out when we run next” or “We run every day no matter if it is raining or snowing at 4pm and run 8 minute pace”.  It’s just not ok to say you run every day and really only run once in awhile or say you run a 10 minute pace and head out at a 7:30 pace.  You get the idea.  Lots of people are running and looking for others to run with.  Just need some people who want to invite others to let me know and I’ll post it here.

Contact us at runninginfo@conwayrunning.org to start a group or inquire about any of the groups who run and someone will get back to you as soon as we can.
